We write about a lot of goods here at Tools & Toys. We’re fairly selective about what we choose to feature on the site, typically opting for items that are of a certain quality rather than throwing a bunch of useless junk in readers’ faces.
For me personally, quality items that are also environmentally conscious earn even more points in my book. Below I’ve featured an EDC collection with a few such items.
“Slide” Wallet by Stitch & Locke. (~$29 USD)
Both eco-friendly and animal-free, this simple wallet is made from a thin layer of cork on the outside and a thicker wool interior, with a notch cut at the lower corner that allows you to easily slide cards out (hence its name). Holds 8 cards comfortably.

A 3.5″ x 5″ saddle-stitched memo book filled with 40 pages of 100% reclaimed paper, featuring up to 3 different types of blank or lined pages.
Analog Watch Co.’s “Carpenter Collection” watch. ($150)
An eco-friendly, gender-neutral timepiece with a body CNC-carved from a solid piece of wood, and a band comprised of a flexible wooden veneer supported by leather underneath. Comes in a variety of wood types.
For every Carpenter Collection watch sold, Analog Watch Co. plants a tree via the Trees for the Future organization.
The “Troubador” pen by Allegory Goods. ($75)
From the same people who co-designed the “Brands Hall” rollerball pen with the folks at Field Notes, the Troubador is a slim, twist-mechanism pen with a body made from reclaimed sinker cypress wood. For every pen sold, Allegory Goods plants a tree via the National Forest Foundation.
