Amazon Echo Wall Clock
If one of your main uses for an Amazon Echo is setting various timers throughout the day, you’ll dig their minimalist Echo Wall Clock, which combines analog timekeeping with built-in visualizations of Alexa timers. So, just like with any Echo device, you can call out commands like…
- “Alexa, set a tea timer for 5 minutes”
- “Alexa, set a video game timer for 30 minutes”
- “Alexa, set a cake timer for 35 minutes”
- “Alexa, set a grill timer for 60 minutes”
…except in this case, that timer won’t just be running in the background — you’ll see it indicated in nice, bright LEDs around the edge of the clock face, easily viewable from a distance. You can even set multiple timers this way, with shorter timers shown as bright lines within the longest one. One especially nice feature is that since the clock syncs with an internet-connected device, it automatically adjusts for daylight saving time.
The thing to keep in mind here is that the clock only pairs with one Echo device at a time, so you can’t have timers coming in from multiple Echos.
The Echo Wall Clock is $30 on Amazon. As of New Year’s Eve 2018, they’re temporarily out of stock (presumably from the Christmas rush) but, y’know, it’s Amazon so I’m sure they’ll have it ready to ship again before long. You can still place an order now and they’ll get it to you as soon as it’s available.
