Super Squares is a simple and fun new puzzle game for iOS. To beat each level, you must find a way to connect each colored block with its twin and make sure every star on the grid has been “collected” along the way. It’s easy to pick up the the basics, but there is some challenge added (in the form of brick tiles that must be blown up) as you progress through the levels.

The game itself is free, and comes with 300 (!) 5×5 levels, but you can unlock other levels of various types via in-app purchases. Some have bigger playing fields (6×6, 7×7, 8×8, and 9×9), some are more difficult in general, and some are just plain fun (one pack that comes to mind is called “Brick Mania — Bazillions of Bricks and Bombs”).

Each of the 9 map packs is only $1, or you can unlock all 1,350 levels at once for $4. Either way you go, it’s a great deal. This is the perfect game to play in short bursts whenever you’ve got a few minutes to kill. And since it keeps your progress synced via iCloud, it’s easy to pick up right where you left off no matter which iDevice you’ve got handy.
