A pager was one of those gadgets I wanted so badly as a kid. I had no real use for it at all, but it seemed like anyone who was important had one, and that was reason enough for me.

A few weeks ago, Tom Gerhardt and Dan Provost, the brilliant guys behind Studio Neat, announced that their “Material Dock” line of walnut docks for your Apple stuff will soon have two new additions designed for MagSafe iPhones.

1. The Material Dock “Trio” ($85) offers 3-in-1 for charging your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.
2. Meanwhile, the Material Dock “Upright Duo” ($54) is for charging your iPhone and AirPods together (or two iPhones, as pictured below).

As with previous editions of the Material Dock, these will be milled from solid walnut wood and given a matte finish, with a molded cork backing piece for the Apple Watch to wrap around while charging.

Underneath the dock will be a microsuction pad to keep it securely in place wherever it lives, so you don’t have to worry about the thing flopping or tossing around when you put devices on it or take them off.

(Also like before, you’ll have to bring your own MagSafe connector. The dock won’t include one for you.)

The team at Twelve South have released the latest in their popular “HiRise” family of products: the HiRise 3, a three-in-one MagSafe charging stand that works with compatible iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch models. As diehard Apple device users who like to keep all these things juiced up as often as possible, we are all for this latest iteration of an already great (not to mention aesthetically pleasing) solution.

The design is pretty straightforward — you’ve got a slanted magnetic pad that holds your iPhone for easy viewing, behind which is an indented resting place for your Apple Watch. If you’re one of the brave souls who ordered a pair of Apple’s expensive new AirPods Max headphones and are fully and happily intending to hang onto them, you’ll probably want some way to protect your investment above and beyond what the included Smart Case can do.

For just twenty bucks or less, this genuine cowhide leather sleeve will add a touch of class to your AirPods Pro case. It LOOKS like luxury but doesn’t cost it.

The case comes with a stainless steel carabiner so you can clip it onto a bag, keyring, or belt loop. You can see the front LED through a tiny hole in the case front, and there’s a slot for a Lightning connector, although you can always charge it wirelessly too.

My one quibble is that it covers the sync button:

If you haven’t already, pair your AirPods before sticking them in the case because you cannot access the pair button in the back with the case. If you do need to remove the AirPods from the case for whatever reason, push the AirPods out through the charging hole with the charger rather than pulling it out.

They’ve got a bunch of leather colors to choose from so you should be able to find one that suits your style. If you only have the baseline AirPods, don’t worry, they’ve got you covered there too.

Unlike the Nomad Base Station I wrote about previously, the ZENS “Liberty” wireless charging pad doesn’t just use a separate charging coil for each device; it has sixteen overlapping ones that create a full-spread charging zone that simply works no matter where you set a device down.

Pictured here is the glass edition, partly for illustrative purposes but also because it looks frickin’ sweet.

Basically, this means no more hunting down any “sweet spots” when you want to charge. However, the tradeoff is that you can only charge two devices at once, not three. They do charge at a rate of 15W though, which is pretty nice.
